Love is... Mind the gap

Alright, buckle up kids, it's going to be a bumpy ride... Harry Potter reference? Anyone? Well get ready for those, because all I have is Harry Potter and Britain on the brain. I thought about dividing this monster into parts, but I figured it would be better for my well being if I just did like a bandaid. I'm not too thrilled to be back so soon. I pray that we can move there someday. I truly fell in love. We're meant to be in Europe.

Enter Jude... ready to be on his way.

He was such a good boy on the plane. I'll have to post my travel tips later.
The first thing after we got our rental, is drive around the parking lot. Okay, well Tyler drove. Kat driving a stick shift on the wrong side of the road is a recipe for disaster. Once he got his bearings back, we were on our way. We went to Oxford, which like an idiot I didn't take any pictures of, and I loved it. After Oxford, we headed to Peterborough and this is what our drive looked like. Yellow fields of rapeseed everywhere. AMAZING!
We stayed our first two nights with a family named the Walkers. I just love them. I wish we could have spent more time with them. They took us to the Borough house when we first arrived. It is the house found in The Haunting and the 5 hour Pride and Prejudice. It was amazing. We got to tour part of it and it was just out of control. I cannot believe that a family still lives there. The Borough house is in a village called Stamford. Oh my giddy aunt, it's beautiful. It's everything I would want out of life.

The next day we went to church at a ward that Tyler had attended on his mission. It was really nice to see people that he remembered and put faces to names. One lady he had baptized named Gloria was there and she was so happy to see him. When she "ELDER MORROW" and hugged him, I almost lost it in the middle of the foyer. For some reason it just hit me how much Tyler had given to this lady and how much he meant to her even after all this time. I saw him in a whole different light. After church we drove to The Chattsworth house (more to come) and Nottingham. On the way we saw these little beauties everywhere. Is this house just not meant for me?!

This is the Chattsworth house from the Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightly. It's one of our favorite movies.

                                                              Tyler and his kingdom.

Riddle me this... how do two cars drive down this road going at least 30mph if not more. I don't know either, but I closed my eyes a lot.
This is another family that Tyler knew on his mission. He baptized Sally and Rob on the same day they were married.

This is what Joe calls the sumo face.
                                                             Don't worry, Jude liked it.
This little buddy is named Alfie. He was my best pal on this trip and I miss him dearly. He always came and cuddled me in morning. He loved Jude ( I think... or envied him. We're not sure) Either way, Alfs was pretty sure that all of Judes toys were his and they played a lot of tug.
This is the room we stayed in. Lorraine Walker has the best decorating taste ever and her house was so cute and when she comes to Utah I am crossing my fingers that she will take me and help me turn our humble abode into something I can be proud of.
I seriously wish I could wake up every morning to this.

Windsor Castle. That was, once again, incredible to tour. We also happened to be there at the same time as the Royal family. While touring, one of the dining rooms was set up for a dinner with a sign that said something about setting up for a private function that evening. Later that day I read on People that they had a dinner there. Saweet!

Look at how sexy he looks drinking his hot chocolate and looking at Buckingham Palace.

How amazing is this. We're just right outside of Hyde park. In downtown London. DOWNTOWN!!! Why can't we have that in Utah?

This is Tylers little goose bird type thing friend that followed him for about two blocks.

The tower of London. We saw the crown jewels which were just ridiculous.
Rumor has it, this is where Anne Boleyn was beheaded. Rumor as in I think I overheard a tour guide saying that.

                                                                The tower bridge

We basically took the Underground everywhere in London since is costs 50 pounds to drive in Downtown London.

The Queens art gallery was open to the public when we were there and on display were Leonardo Da Vinci sketches of anatomy. That was really cool!!

This little beauty is called a pass - ty. Not to be confused with a pasty. Which is was I initially called it. Party foul Kat. It is a delicious pastry type thing filled with cheese and onions. They actually have these in heaven. I've dreamt about it.
On our last day in England, we went to Nottinghill. We loved it. I would live there. If I were rich and important. Or just rich.

I had fish and chips in England twice and am currently in the market of looking for a semi good one in Utah. Because it is all I crave. Besides the passty.
My second most favorite thing about the trip besides the Walkers. Platform 9 and 3/4.  Just a heads up to anyone as die hard as me... This platform is NOT really on platform 9.... It is just outside of it. Don't do anything crazy...

I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to go on this trip. I loved every moment. I loved just about everything in England, besides the massive amounts of second hand smoke we got in London. I really believe my wandering soul belongs there. Hopefully we can make it happen. I'm really thankful that Tyler is SO hardworking and provided me with this trip. Ever since we were married, it is all I talked about and he made it happen. What a STUD!

Love is... A round of applause

Do you ever get the urge to give your own Oscar speech? Like, hypothetically speaking, while driving in your car you go through all the people and/or things that you would mention? Because, let's face it... you don't want to be the snob that doesn't thank the makeup artists for making you look beautiful or forget to give a romantic shout out to your significant other... am I right? Well today, right now in fact, I would like to give a round of applause to the following for making my life better

To all the people who watch Jude! Especially my parents so I can go to the gym, Kris, so I can jaunt a 5k,  and Kalie, who makes it possible for me to get my hair did...

Speaking of the gym, Natalie Hepworth! Who gets me off my fat butt and into a Zumba class where it is not acceptable to be as whale-ish as I currently am.

Dave Matthews... for making my office go from blah to paradise with the simple pluck of his guitar strings

My impeccable taste in music for letting me go from Metallica to Bon Iver to The Rascal Flatts to Nessun Dorma in four simple simple clicks

Rap music. For making me feel like a thug. That's slang for a rebel without a cause.

Whitney Fenn. For having so much sass that I can still feel her presence all the way from Peru.

Target since they just added Target Shoppes and making me love them more than I already did.

For people that think I'm less Canadian since I only lived there until I was six. Idiots.

To Tyler who puts up with my ever changing attitudes. Today I told him " Ty. I have decided that I am going to stop being mad and start being vengeful" and to that he said "oh, well that's good" Watch out. You know who you are.

And finally... for the baby son who is too cute for words and makes me one proud mom!

Love is... Messers Moody, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs

Hello world! I hope life has been treating you as well as it has been treating our little fam and that you are lovin' this sweet springtime that is going on! To start this post off with a bang, I ran a 5k with some sweet friends of mine. Emma came up with the idea for us to run it and I wont lie... I was pretty skeptical at my ability to run three miles straight. Yes, you read that correctly. I did mean to type three. Despite the 5k being the shortest distance offered besides the kids fun run, it still sounded pretty scary. BUT! I am SO very glad I did it with these sweet ladies because it was really fun and I was pretty happy with myself...

But I was even more proud of that man in blue because Ty ran a half marathon! 13.1 miles!!!! He didn't even practice. What a stud.. am I right?

Jude stayed with us the whole time and by 2pm... he was all tuckered out.

We got to see some of the pretty tulips at the tulip festival and it was fantastic!

And then we went home and Jude decided he wanted to try some cinnamon gummy bears... delight! He was a little perturbed when I took it away.

Also, on an even happier note, Tyler is almost done with finals WOOT WOOT! And due to the amazing coincidence of seeing a license plate that said PADFOOT today, I am officially declaring Judes #1 birthday a HARRY POTTER THEME! I'm psyched.
I also would like to get a Harry Potter themed license plate for myself, and my ideas so far are:
Albus
Muggle
Weasley... because we all know how much I would love to be a Weasly (if I couldn't be a Morrow obviously... or a Matthews, but that is for another day)
Hedwig
kreachr

Any other suggestions?

Love is... breaking and entering

Friday (today) is my day off. I love being home, hangin out with the baby son, and doing whatever errands have piled up during the day. I also LOVE going out to lunch with friends. Nat and I were supposed to meet for a delicious egg salad sandwich at the Corner Bakery but then, as I was backing out of our garage... it wouldn't shut. Really? So I get out of the car; making sure nothing is in the way of the sensor and then get back in to continue on my journey. It buzzes down 1/2 a foot and then goes back up. As I get out of my car for the second time I notice that something seems to be amiss... mainly the angle that the garage door is hanging. So I phone Tyler and let him know "Hey, the garage door is broken". He's irritated and doesn't think I should leave. I tell him I have a lunch date and I will lock the door. We hang up and I go to lock the door. It won't lock. So I phone Ty again, and this was our conversation (edited to keep the blog from having a PG-13 rating)
Kat: Ty, the door won't lock.
Ty: Well then don't leave.
Kat: Tyler. No one is going to break in. There are construction workers all around.
Ty: Kat. Midday is the most likely time a break in will occur, because no one is suspecting it.

-- Okay. Three things. One: Will someone please confirm or deny the haphazard statistic he just threw out? Two: If someone is most likely to break in now.. Why do you want your wife and kid home? So I can scare them away with my intimidating stature? Three: WHY DO YOU WANT YOUR WIFE AND KID HOME??
I don't know. Perhaps I was overreacting... Maybe all of you would be fine at home with an unlocked door and an opened garage. Alas, I am not you. The happy ending to this modern day fairy tale is that he came home to guard our house until the doors were fixed.

Love is... Easter

Happy Easter... yesterday! We loved it. Plus, it was Judes number one Easter and he had quite the day. We went to my parents ward and then ate lunch at their home. They gave Jude a new jumping chair and he LOVES it. It is quite the party. We went to the Morrows home next and had a lovely dinner - because let's face it, Kris goes all out. We had two Easter egg hunts, one for the beebs and one for the adults. I love the egg hunt they put on every year. It bring out my inner child and she loves any excuse to surface. I know I say this about every holiday, but I just LOVE Easter!! I hope yours was just as grand as ours!!

Love is... I'm just a poor boy...

This video encompasses so much for me. Namely my love for Canada, the hysterics this sent me into when I saw it for the first time at work, and if I ever become inebriated, I sincerely hope I am this cool. If you're the cop, how do you not laugh hysterically? Or join in?? Who doesn't love Freddie Mercury? Oh well, at least they let him finish his song. And he does play a sick air piano.

Highlight: "Do you really have to cuff me?" "Well, are you going to do anything?" "Pfft, physical violence is the LEAST of my priorities"

That or the satisfactory smirk he has when he adds "not even the RCMP" to the end of the song.
