Love is... Lennon and Maisy

Don't mind that I am just getting around to blogging about Easter. It's been a hectic little while for me.

Every year Tyler's parents throw an Easter egg hunt and I just love it! There's nothing like hunting for eggs full of dinero in my opinion. I just love them for all they do, especially for this shindig.

Jude got super into it this year and, although he needed some assistance, he basically rocked it.

Look at these cute little bunny ear table settings. My mother in law knows how to have Easter dinner.

Also on the home front, can I just say that I am supremely happy that Jude has a serious interest in music. I know he is young but I am NOT making this stuff up. We listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of you tube videos of music and he will just sit and watch them with me for days. One of our favorites is Nashville on TV. I record it every Wednesday night and watch it with Jude Thursday morning. He doesn't really care about the dialogue and I don't think he even has a clue of the insane love triangles going on, but you can bet your bottom dollar that when someone starts to pluck their guitar strings, he is front and center and watches the whole performance. There are two young girls on the show and in real life they are called Lennon and Maisy, or the Stella sisters. We LOVE them. They are a youtube regular for us and we love them so much that we wanted to share some of their songs.

Love is... status = gimp

Due to an unforeseen broken bone in our family, my 30 things is out the window. I'll hopefully have enough motivation and energy to record them in my journal but I definitely don't have enough time for the blog.
Our poor Jude broke his wrist in TWO places! What poor luck. We took him into Primary Children's ER Saturday afternoon and it almost broke my heart. I was super impressed with Primaries and how, just amazing they are with kids. I was glad we made the trek up there. After they splinted his arm he was feeling much better about life. I cannot wait to go get his cast and pick a color!! Also we'll be going around collecting signatures. It will be a blast... as much as it can be at least.

Also, can I just say that all of you are the most amazing people! As soon as I posted the picture on insta I got SOOOOO many phone calls and texts from my awesome friends expressing their concern and love. It sounds super lame, but it just meant a lot to me to know that all of you cared and were willing to take the time out of your day to check up on Jude. I'm also super grateful to Mike and Kris who let us come to their house and helped out with operation distract Jude and Kris went out and bought a ton of bigger clothing for Jude to fit over his massive splint. And my mom has been listening to my "tears" of having a little son suffer and all the emotion that goes along with it. I have some pretty sweet people in my life and I am grateful for ALL OF YOU!!!!!

Love is... helpers

I just wanted to make a quick note about the Boston bombing. It's super cliche, but I feel like there aren't really any words for a time like this. There is a quote going around right now by Mr. Rogers and it says  “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." From now on I am choosing to really focus on that and more throughout my life. Hopefully I can become a better helper.

Love is... 20 preguntas

I just did 25 facts on Facebook for no reason and so my first post is a shameless copy and paste job. As least it's not plagiarism. I went through and deleted five of the posts to make it 20 just so it's not a Kat overload.

1. My bestie best is still Natalie Hepworth. She's just a GEM!!!
2. I love a good book. In fact, despite my intense obsession with Daniel Day-Lewis, I would give up movies for books.
3. I have watched a Harry Potter movie every night since I've been married (sans vacations).
4. When I am talking to my child I rotate through various accents, languages, and sayings. If he starts speaking like a street thug, a deaf jew, some german, or in an English accent, that is why.
5. I possibly have this unexplainable love for Dave Matthews that runs so deep I would have named my first born after him if it had not been vetoed (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)
6. I used to park my car and use a scooter to get from A to B in high school with my friends. We called ourselves The Scooter Brigade.
7. Speaking of high school my friends and I also started themed Fridays, where we would dress to match the appropriate theme. Off the top of my head I remember Mafia Friday, Muumuu Friday ( i just had to google how spell that) and White tee Friday.
8. Baz Luhrmann choses some of the best covers for his movies. I might love him.
9. My bestie Nat once hit a quail on Universtity Parkway in Provo. Her father informed her that quails mate for life, thus ensuring his spot as my number one "phone a friend" if I ever make it on a game show with that option. Although, come to think of it, my father in law is a close second.
10. I consider myself decently intelligent. However, I once thought that the moon and Pluto were one in the same. My husband broke the news to me two years into our marriage and things have never been the same. I felt the need to put it out there so I can move on.  - I wanted to delete this one SO bad.
11. My child owns more clothing from Europe and Canada than America. Which makes him exponentionally more cool than everybody else.
12. One time I went to a James Taylor concert and I am pretty sure I got second hand high. I was playing the imaginary bongo drums like I was born to do it.
13. I have one sister in law that paints famous paintings and one that runs marathons and then there's me and I fill out facebook surveys.
14. I sat on a grape in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy and thought that my water had broken. Try owning up to that in Labor and Delivery.
15. A museum employee once threatened to bring security over to kick me out because I fed my child a goldfish cracker.
16. I don't have any allergies to medications... and that bothers me.
17. Natalie and I used to BLOW UP the 80's dancing floor and I really miss that.
18. I am extremely girly but I really love sports and nerdy things like LOTR and the like...
19. I really love Bigfork, MT and kind of wish I lived there.
20. I once posted on instagram that I lectured my son and nephew on how DMB is the greatest contribution to the music industry today and the reason that John Lennon is no longer with us is because if the two had collaborated, the world would have fallen into a state of endless depression, knowing that they would never encounter such beauty again. I felt like it was probably one of the only meaniful and possibly profound things I would ever teach anyone, thus it made its way to a facebook note.
I hope you enjoy my selfie pic to go along with my self facts!

Love is... some jams

How cute is this kid? We have photo shoots all the time. As we should, because a face this darling should be out there for the world to see.

Also, have you heard the acoustic version of "We Are Young" by Fun on Youtube? I heard it many moons ago and then remembered it today. You all need it in your lives.

You know what you also might need? The TV show called Girls. Well, maybe not. It's an HBO show (so that really should say it all) but I just love it. I mean like I would have an affair with it love. I also am really loving Nashville right now.
