Love is... some Audrey, some Edward, and a lovin' feelin

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
~Audrey Hepburn

What a pretty quote. Maybe I complain too much. I will surely try to stop. Luckily I have pretty and nice and pretty nice friends to keep me in check.

P.S. we saw Eclipse. TWICE! Word to your mother!!! My bff Jeff (how fitting of destiny, to make his name rhyme with bff) hooked us UP! and then my mom and I went and saw it for her day of birth. Which is really on the 2nd, but we will be in Montana. She understands.

P.P.S. Tomorrow, at this very moment in time, I will be reunited with Whit.... REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD!

P.P.P.S. I told my puppy that he could be my Edward and my Jacob, too far? Meh, probably.

P.P.P.P.S. I know I will end up complaining about people relatively soon... but I promise I will make a sincere effort to stop.

P.P.P.P.P.S. Goodnight :)

Love is... what in the world just happened last night

Have you ever had a day, that when it ended, you just kept saying to yourself "I can't believe that just happened" "I CANNOT believe that just happened". That was my day yesterday. I woke up at a decent time Monday morning, ready to conquer the day. I made a list (yes mom, a list) of the things I wanted to get done today. I needed groceries, I wanted to go to the library with Ty, I needed to find a cable to connect a video camera to my sister-in-laws computer so she could edit my wedding video, and then I was going to settle down at my parents house with a snow cone and watch the Bachelorette. So, after I went on a jog with my puppy and hit up the tanning salon I headed over to Robert's. I knew I smelled bad, but it was okay because everyone stinks sometimes and I was going to shower later anyway :) Well in the middle of planning all of my scrapbooking endeavors, my phones rings. It is Susan from work. Apparently I work an 8hr shift and I am 30 minutes late. Nice. I told her that there must have been some miscommunication, I have the schedule and my name is most definitely not on it. Susan told be the updated schedule most definitely did say my name. Great. So I paid for my stuff and hurried home to change. Everyone was really nice about it and I didn't get in trouble.
Once I was at work, I had to cycle in all of these new meds because another patient is dying. It is pretty sad. I really like this lady. We used to visit all the time.
8 o'clock rolls around and I am passing meds on the bottom floor. I walk by the nurses station and see my boss looking upset, talking to someone on the phone. I look in the lobby and there is a lady on a stretcher that I have never seen before in my life. Come to find out, the hospital sent us this trauma patient because her family had said this is where she was going to be moving to. Problem was, we didn't have any records on here... we didn't even have a bed for her. After about 1/2 an hour of debate, the hospital finally took her back. How random, right? I didn't know ambulances just dropped people off like that. Oh, and by the way...her husband is abusive, a violent schizophrenic to be perfectly clear, and he just might come over because this is where he thinks she is. My boss left us with that warning, and then it was back to business.
It's 9:30 and Emily comes running over from the other side. "He's here. He's trying to kick in the door". Seriously? Do these things really happen in real life? So Emily calls our boss, and I call Tyler. I ask him to come over, and truthfully I don't think he took me seriously at first. So, no Tyler. Emily is on the phone with the cops now and I am phoning my dad. I don't really know why, but it made me feel better. He came over to the main door, and started pounding on it, yelling for us to let him in. I thought about going out, but then decided no thanks. He was pretty upset that we just stood there, looking at him. He just kept banging on the door, screaming at us. Like an idiot, I just stood there and watched him. He finally left and then the cops came. They took my statement, talked to my bosses, and got some information about the family. Ty came to work and sat with us for the last 15 minutes after the cops left. I let night shift know not to open any doors. And then I went home.
I really can't believe that just happened to me.

Love is... friends and more friends!

Oh friends. I love my friends. I have lot's of awesome friends from all over the freaking NATION! I miss them so, and we do not talk enough. I am so excited to see Whitnasty... oh wait!... Next week ladies and fellas, next week. What an awesome person. She is so wise in one moment, and so outrageous in the next. How much more amazing can you get.
Then I love my work friends. They are so silly. We have awesome seconds and minutes and 8hr shifts together. They let me vent about stupid people that I seriously cannot stand... and then we all make fun of them together because we are immature and rude. It's okay though, because I end up feeling better that I am not the only person in the world that think these people are ridiculous.
Also, no one is better to be working with than JJ because she is good luck when someone is dying... and no is better to hear the news of a death from than Tressie, because she tells it how it is.
Finally!! No is better to have around than Nellie, because she takes pretty princess pictures like the following:

And I miss my friend that are even father away than Montana. Like Evan and Brandon and my cousins and even my little friend that I met in Europe.

Love is... lovely

I cannot wait until Dave Matthews
I cannot wait for Eclipse
I cannot wait for my skinny jeans to come in the mail
I cannot wait for Ty to come home from work
I cannot wait to go to Provo
I cannot wait to go back to Canada
Life is lovely :)

This quote is good

“What matters is that you do good work. What matters is that you produce things that are true and will stand. What matters is that the Flaming Lips’s new album is ravishing and I’ve listened to it a thousand times already, sometimes for days on end, and it enriches me and makes me want to save people. What matters is that it will stand forever, long after any narrow-hearted curmudgeons have forgotten their appearance on goddamn 90210. What matters is not the perception, nor the fashion, not who’s up and who’s down, but what someone has done and if they meant it. What matters is that you want to see and make and do, on as grand a scale as you want, regardless of what the tiny voices of tiny people say. Do not be critics, you people, I beg you. I was a critic and I wish I could take it all back because it came from a smelly and ignorant place in me, and spoke with a voice that was all rage and envy. Do not dismiss a book until you have written one, and do not dismiss a movie until you have made one, and do not dismiss a person until you have met them. It is a ——load of work to be open-minded and generous and understanding and forgiving and accepting, but Christ, that is what matters. What matters is saying yes.
-Dave Eggers on "selling out and saying yes"

We should all loosen up and yes more.

Love is... the mother land

Ty and I went to Canada this past month, and I miss it SO much. We only stayed for 2 days but my mom and I are going back at the end of July - HOORAY! I cannot wait to spend more time there.
We went up for my cousins wedding and on our way there we pretty much hit every problem you could possibly think of. It was raining the entire time. The worst part was in Butte and we were leaving and heading up into the mountain pass there. Right when we rounded a corner (going 85) we hit some water and hydroplaned for about 1/2 a mile. It was so scary, but Ty was driving and did everything perfectly so we lived. The highway was flooded pretty bad in that canyon and there was one pretty bad accident.
It felt so good to finally be in Canada. That drive seems like forever.
My cousins wedding was perfect! She did everything so cute and her and Garth love each other very much. It was nice to have that as a focal point for the trip because a lot of tough stuff happened. Sometimes I just need to remind myself that this life is temporary. It is really interesting how different people handle different emotions. Sometimes I freak out over really dumb stuff, but then when all these big things happen, I couldn't shed a tear even if I wanted too. I am really grateful for Tyler. He has been a big help, especially this past weekend. It really was a difficult trip.
Anyway! Here are some pictures from the 2nd largest landmass, the 1st nation of hockey and the best part of North America.

The wildlife answers to NO ONE! These little darlings were ramming into cars earlier that day

This bridge is the tallest, longest of its kind... Right Tyler?

I dunno what happened in this picture, but I thought it was silly

For some reason it was really important to Tyler that we take pictures with creeper eyes

Isn't she lovely?!?!?!

Love is... Summer time, but the livin' isn't easy

I was all geared up to write about summer. How much I love the sun, flip flops, hiking, lakes, bodies of water in general... EVERYTHING about summer tugs at my heart strings and I have been amped for a day like today since the first leaf fell from the tree.
Today I got up, put on my favorite bikini and went straight to the pool. I scouted out the best chair so I could get ample sun coverage and made sure I was there before the kids convinced their parents that swimming was really what they wanted to do on a Saturday.
****Fast forward 5 hours****
Where am I? Laying in bed, with nothing but a soft, loose blanket covering my skin. Why?
Because I am as roasted as our Thanksgiving turkey. Not just on my shoulders... not just on my nose... oh no. Literally, everywhere. I never burn... NEVER! What went wrong? I didn't stay out all day, I planned my rotation time to perfection... I just don't get it.
Oh wait... I think I remember something.
The antibiotics that I am on make my skin sensitive to the sun. Clearly, there was a reason why I was warned by 3 different people that I should apply a generous amount of sunblock.
This is pretty embarrassing. Sometimes I get a little redness... and maybe once when I first discovered the world of fake tanning, but I never burn. Especially my legs. I haven't had a leg burn in decades.
So here I am. Slathered in aloe vera, googling home remedies for a quick sunburn cure. I can't take a bath in black tea because it will stain our tub... but they say I can use a cloth soaked in tea. Also, lavender and emu oil are supposed to work wonders. Tyler is probably going to be making a few stops on his way home from Jason's. I've already taken 800mg of ibuprofen... and I have already chopped 2 potatoes and placed them on my body (another home remedy). Any other helpful hints would be appreciated. I will try anything... because right now all I am doing is laying in bed, covered in potatoes slices... and I am red. And I hate the color red.
